‘Who Is Shalin?’: Dalljiet Kaur Calls Out Ex-Husband Shalin Bhanot for Abandoning Their Son After Second Divorce

TV actress Dalljiet Kaur has made headlines once again after opening up about the emotional turmoil following her second failed marriage and the profound impact it has had on her 10-year-old son, Jaydon. In a candid interview with Glataa India, Dalljiet did not hold back as she revealed how her ex-husband, actor Shalin Bhanot, has allegedly cut all ties with their son in the wake of her divorce from her second husband, Nikhil Patel.

Dalljiet’s first marriage to Shalin Bhanot ended in a highly publicized divorce, with Dalljiet alleging domestic violence—claims Shalin ultimately denied in court. Dalljiet was given custody of their son, and for nearly nine years, Shalin maintained contact with Jaydon. However, things took a dramatic turn after Dalljiet’s brief second marriage to Nikhil Patel ended in heartbreak, with Dalljiet accusing Nikhil of cheating.

In her interview, Dalljiet shared, “After what I went through, the person [Shalin] didn’t even send a message or make a single call. It would have been good if he had said something, even if it was to remind me it was my choice to remarry. But he could have stood with Jaydon, reassured him, told him, ‘No matter what, I’m here for you.’”

Dalljiet’s frustration is palpable as she recalls how Shalin, who remained in touch with Jaydon for years, suddenly disappeared from his life when the boy needed him most. “Jaydon sometimes asks if his father called or messaged. Maybe he’s wondering what he did wrong to deserve being ignored by his dad,” she said.

When Shalin’s name was mentioned during the interview, Dalljiet immediately responded, “Who is Shalin?”—a remark underscoring her pain and disappointment. She added, “Even after everything that happened between us, I would have forgotten it all if he’d just stayed by Jaydon’s side.” She went on to say, “You need to have humanity. My son doesn’t deserve this.”

Dalljiet and Shalin were married in 2009 and welcomed Jaydon a few years later. After their turbulent split, Dalljiet won custody, and Shalin stayed in contact with his son until Dalljiet remarried. Since then, Shalin has reportedly cut off communication with Jaydon altogether.

Dalljiet’s bold revelations have sparked debates on social media about parental responsibility post-divorce and the emotional well-being of children caught in the crossfire. While Shalin’s PR team reportedly sends statements in his defense, Dalljiet insists no excuse can justify abandoning a child in their darkest hour.
