Maulana Sajid Rashidi Assaulted by SP Workers After Controversial Remark on MP Dimple Yadav

Ghaziabad, UP – Maulana Sajid Rashidi, who recently made a controversial remark about Samajwadi Party (SP) MP Dimple Yadav, was assaulted by SP supporters in a private news channel’s studio. A video of the incident has widely circulated on social media, showing the cleric being repeatedly slapped by SP workers.

In the video, a man identified as Mohit Nagar approaches Maulana Sajid Rashidi, talks to him briefly, and then begins slapping him multiple times. Other associates present also joined in the assault. The sudden altercation created chaos within the studio, with Maulana Rashidi eventually fleeing to escape further attack.

The individuals involved in the assault are said to be SP party workers. Rashidi has accused Mohit Nagar and another SP member, Kuldeep Bhati, of attacking him. He has filed a formal complaint at Sector 126 police station, prompting an investigation. Police have taken cognizance of the viral video as evidence and have begun their inquiry.

The controversy roots back to a recent visit by SP national president Akhilesh Yadav, his wife Dimple Yadav, and a group of MPs to a local mosque. A photo and video of this visit, showing Dimple Yadav at the mosque, went viral on social media. Maulana Sajid Rashidi’s remarks regarding Dimple Yadav’s presence at the mosque sparked outrage among SP supporters, leading to heightened tensions and ultimately this physical confrontation.

Following the incident, the news channel canceled the scheduled debate. Police spokespersons have confirmed that the matter is under investigation and video evidence is being examined.

The incident has triggered widespread discussion online, with the assault video attracting significant attention. Authorities are now working to determine further legal action.
