Pune Kodwa Rape Case Takes New Turn: Police Investigation Reveals Shocking Details

A recent alleged rape incident in Pune’s Kodwa area has taken a dramatic turn as new findings emerge from the ongoing police investigation. The case, which initially appeared to involve a stranger breaking into a woman’s home, now seems to involve someone known to the victim.

According to early police reports, the accused was not a delivery agent as previously claimed, but was in fact acquainted with the 22-year-old victim. The incident occurred on Wednesday evening, when the woman, who works at a private company after completing her IT studies at a Pune college, was alone at her flat—her brother being out of town.

The victim initially filed an FIR at the Kodwa Police Station against an unknown person, alleging that the man entered her home under the pretense of delivering a bank envelope. She claimed that while she went inside to get a pen, the accused shut the door and raped her. Deputy Commissioner of Police Rajkumar Shinde stated that the woman regained consciousness several hours after the incident. Around 8:30 p.m., she informed her relatives, who then called the police.
