But instead, Jayden was left wondering why his father had abandoned him, especially after being present for so many years. Sometimes, Jayden would ask, “Did Dad call or message you?”—a question that broke Dalljiet’s heart every time. She wondered if her son blamed himself for his father’s absence.

Despite the pain, Dalljiet believes that humanity and compassion should come before everything else. “My son doesn’t deserve this,” she said, her voice heavy with emotion.
