According to her statement, Vedan maintained a physical relationship with her from August 2021 to March 2023, consistently assuring her that he would marry her. When those promises failed to materialize, she approached the police, who responded swiftly and filed an FIR.

This isn’t Vedan’s first brush with the law. Just two months ago, on April 29th, he was arrested on drug charges after authorities discovered 6 grams of marijuana and ₹9 lakh in cash at his apartment. He was later released on bail. Shortly after, forest officials also booked him when a leopard’s tooth was found in his possession, leading to another arrest and subsequent bail.

The rapper’s troubles didn’t end there. In May, a BJP leader filed a complaint against him, accusing Vedan of defaming Prime Minister Narendra Modi and promoting casteism through his music. The controversies have only multiplied since then, especially after Vedan admitted to personal drug use following his arrest.

Vedan first rose to fame in 2019 with his album “Voice of the Voiceless,” which boldly addressed issues of caste discrimination and social contradictions in India. He has also lent his voice to several Bollywood films, earning a reputation for his outspoken lyrics and activism.

Now, with a serious rape charge looming over him, Vedan’s future hangs in the balance. Police have launched a full investigation into the allegations, adding yet another chapter to the rapper’s growing list of legal woes.
