Family Claims Innocence of 20-Year-Old Son Amidst Ongoing Police Investigation
A family in Indore is grappling with grief and disbelief after their 20-year-old son was arrested in connection with a recent case that has drawn significant media attention. The family insists that their son has been falsely implicated and could never be involved in any wrongdoing.
Speaking to reporters, the boy’s mother broke down in tears, saying, “My son could never do such a thing. He is just 20 years old. Since the day he was taken away, none of us have eaten or even had water. My younger daughter keeps fainting from the shock. He was the only son after our father passed away. We have no one else.”
The mother described her son as kind-hearted and generous. “He would give away his own shoes to someone in need. I pray to God to prove my child innocent. He can’t do this,” she said, pleading for justice and support from the authorities.
The family claims their son worked at a factory owned by a relative and was always responsible and caring. “He worked at Sonam’s brother’s factory. If you work together, you talk to each other; that doesn’t make you guilty. He has been framed,” the mother added.
Relatives and neighbors echoed the family’s sentiments, describing the accused as a gentle and helpful young man. One neighbor recalled, “He was always respectful and never got into trouble. Even at family functions, he was well-behaved and cheerful.”
Meanwhile, the police have taken four suspects, including the 20-year-old, into custody on a seven-day transit remand until the 16th of the month, as part of their ongoing investigation. The police stated that mobile phones and other evidence have been seized and will be sent for forensic examination.
Authorities confirmed that teams from Shillong and Indore Crime Branch are coordinating on the case, and further details will emerge as the investigation progresses. The family, however, maintains that their son is innocent and has appealed for a fair inquiry, requesting higher authorities to intervene.
As the investigation continues, the family’s anguish remains palpable. “We have no one else. If anything happens to him, we don’t know how we will survive,” the mother said, her voice choked with emotion.
The case has sparked discussions about the importance of thorough investigations and the impact such incidents have on families, especially when the accused are young and have no prior history of wrongdoing.
