Viral Video Sparks Outrage: RPF Constable Tries to Throw Passenger From Train – What’s the Full Story?

By Siddharth Prakash

A shocking viral video has raised serious questions about railway safety and the conduct of security personnel in India. The disturbing footage shows a uniformed Railway Protection Force (RPF) constable allegedly attempting to throw a passenger out of a moving train. The incident has sparked widespread anger and concern across social media platforms.

The Incident

In the video clip, a heated argument erupts between an RPF constable and a young male passenger. The situation escalates quickly, with the constable slapping the passenger and then dragging him towards the open train door. Despite other passengers pleading with the constable to stop, their attempts are ignored. Social media posts claim that the young man was traveling without a ticket.

Legal vs. Excessive Force

This incident has provoked heated debate about the appropriate role of security forces. Many have noted that the penalty for traveling without a ticket should be a fine or removal from the train at the next station—not such dangerous, violent action. One social media user wrote, “If he’s traveling without a ticket, fine him or remove him at the next station, but why throw him off a moving train? Wearing a uniform doesn’t give anyone the right to play God.”

Thousands joined in expressing their outrage online, demanding strict action from the Railway Ministry and the RPF against the constable involved.

RPF Response and New Developments

With public anger mounting, the RPF released an official statement. According to their account, the incident took place on August 18, 2025, at Delhi’s Sarai Rohilla station. The RPF asserts that immediate disciplinary action was taken: the accused constable was transferred to the Dayabasti RPF Reserve Line, and a departmental inquiry was initiated.

Crucially, the RPF claims the train was stationary at the time, not moving, due to an emergency chain being pulled. The train in question was number 22482. The RPF further states that when the constable asked the passenger for identification, he failed to provide it, and the constable was only escorting him from the train.

Key Questions Remain

However, these clarifications have not satisfied many observers. Even if the train was stationary, is it justified for an officer to slap, drag, and forcibly eject a passenger in this manner? Was the constable’s aggressive behavior acceptable, regardless of the circumstances?

Whether the passenger pulled the emergency chain or boarded without a ticket, taking the law into one’s own hands is never acceptable, argue many onlookers. Social media remains skeptical of the RPF’s version and has called out what they see as an attempted cover-up.

Ongoing Investigation

A formal inquiry into the incident is currently underway. The RPF has promised that strict action will be taken against whoever is found guilty based on the investigation’s findings.

What Do You Think?

Was the RPF constable justified in his actions, or is the RPF simply trying to deflect blame? What consequences should the officer face if found guilty? Share your thoughts in the comments section below.
