Shocking Twist in Raja Raghuvanshi Murder Case: Property Dealer Arrested, Crucial Evidence Destroyed

In a dramatic development in the murder investigation of transport businessman Raja Raghuvanshi, Meghalaya Police are intensifying their search for a missing trolley bag believed to hold Raja’s gold chain, bracelet, and other critical evidence. The probe has taken a new turn with the arrest of Silom James, a property dealer and key accomplice of the main accused, Sonam, uncovering fresh leads in this high-profile case.

The mysterious trolley bag, initially hidden in a vacant plot in Nipania, was discovered burned to ashes. Investigators revealed that Silom James deliberately set fire to the bag, destroying vital evidence that could have cracked the case wide open. The Special Investigation Team (SIT) had been scouring Indore for five consecutive days searching for the bag, which was first concealed by Raj and Sonam in a flat located in Heera Bagh. Reports confirm the bag contained not only clothes but also a country-made pistol and ₹5 lakh in cash—the very pistol allegedly used to execute Raja.

According to sources, Raj purchased the pistol from Sikli Gharon with the intent to orchestrate Raja’s assassination via Vishal, Akash, and Anand. However, following Akash’s arrest in Lalitpur on June 8, Sonam fled to Ghazipur, abandoning the trolley bag in the flat. When the SIT reached the flat to recover the evidence, both the bag and the pistol had mysteriously vanished despite an extensive five-day search.

The breakthrough came from CCTV footage showing Silom James removing the trolley bag from the premises. Despite repeated summons for questioning, Silom repeatedly evaded the police, claiming he was traveling to Bhopal and promising to return soon. He then went off the radar by switching off his phone, forcing police to alert the Shipra police. Silom was finally apprehended at a toll checkpoint.

Now in custody and facing transit remand, Silom James stands accused of assisting Sonam and Raj in disposing of the pistol, cash, clothes, and precious jewelry belonging to Raja Raghuvanshi. CCTV footage not only captured Silom carrying the bag from the flat but also burning it in a vacant plot near Hare Krishna Vihar. Forensic teams along with Shillong police are meticulously collecting what remains of the charred evidence in hopes of uncovering new clues.

Further investigations revealed that Silom had leased the Heera Bagh flat to Sonam, facilitating her to hide there. The building’s security guard, who was entrusted with the keys by Silom, has now disappeared, deepening the mystery and suspicion around the conspiracy.

Authorities are now exploring whether Silom had a more profound connection with Sonam or if he played a larger role in planning the murder. The SIT is piecing together every lead, while forensic experts continue their analysis of the burnt remains.

During interrogation, Sonam and Raj admitted that the pistol, ₹5 lakh cash, and Raja’s gold jewelry were stored inside the trolley bag. Yet, when the SIT arrived at the flat, it appeared undisturbed, raising immediate suspicion about Silom’s possible involvement in orchestrating the disappearance of evidence.

Additionally, the SIT has learned that on May 31, an auto-rickshaw driver transported the trolley bag on instructions from Vishal, another accused. The police are now working to link these pieces and expose the entire network behind the murder.

The Raja Raghuvanshi murder case has entered a critical phase with the arrest of Silom James and the destruction of key evidence. As the investigation intensifies, the public awaits further revelations that could unveil the full extent of this chilling conspiracy.
