The political temperature in Bihar is soaring as the RJD and Congress have meticulously planned their strategies, undertaken mass outreach campaigns, and set the stage for an intense electoral battle. However, a recent remark about Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s late mother has sparked a major controversy, overshadowing the opposition’s efforts and leading to heated exchanges.

During a public address, Prime Minister Narendra Modi became visibly emotional, condemning the insult directed at his late mother. He stated, “Insulting my mother, who is no longer alive, is an insult to the entire nation and to all women.” The comment struck a chord across the country, but also prompted a sharp response from RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav.

Tejashwi Yadav, in a pointed rebuttal, said, “No one should ever use abusive language against anyone’s mother. It’s not part of our values or culture. Every mother deserves respect.” However, Yadav didn’t stop there. He accused PM Modi of hypocrisy, recalling past incidents where Modi himself had allegedly made derogatory remarks towards Sonia Gandhi, referred to the ‘50 crore girlfriend’ comment, and questioned Nitish Kumar’s DNA. Yadav also claimed that BJP legislators had hurled insults at his own mother and sister in the assembly, and that BJP spokespersons have repeatedly disrespected women on live television.

Yadav further criticized the Prime Minister for showing emotion only upon returning from foreign trips, implying that Modi was jovial abroad but tearful at home for political mileage. He also highlighted instances where BJP leaders were accused of threatening women, yet were welcomed and honored within the party.

“Where was the Prime Minister when such language was used? Why did he remain silent then?” Yadav asked, referencing past controversies. He asserted that the people of Bihar are well aware of the reality and will not be swayed by “artificial and adulterated politics.”

The RJD leader also took a jab at BJP’s recent actions, noting that the party is nervous due to the overwhelming support received by the opposition’s Voter Rights Yatra, which united people from all castes, religions, and communities. He claimed that BJP’s “theft” had been exposed, leading to their current restlessness.

As Bihar’s political drama unfolds, the issue of respect for women and political accountability remains at the forefront. With both sides trading accusations and the public closely watching, the coming days promise more twists in this high-stakes battle.
