TV Star Rubina Dilaik Reveals Her Twin Daughters Face Colorism, Says Even Babies Aren’t Spared

Bollywood Desk – In a heart-wrenching revelation, popular television actress Rubina Dilaik has opened up about the harsh reality of colorism directed towards her 19-month-old twin daughters. Rubina, who became a mother after five years of marriage, often shares her personal life updates through blogging. This time, she shed light on the sensitive issues modern parents must navigate.

Rubina shared, “My daughters are just 18–19 months old, but even at this age, people are making remarks about their skin color. One daughter is fair and the other is dusky. People come and compare them, which is so wrong.” Rubina admitted that sharing this made her quite emotional.

She further added, “I don’t allow such comparisons inside my home. I protect my girls from beauty stereotypes. Yet, even some family members have suggested that I apply certain pastes to make my dusky daughter fairer. I ask—why should I? My daughters are beautiful as they are. It took me over 30 years to understand that there are no real standards for beauty. No one should set such standards for my daughters.”

To shield her children from societal judgments and city pollution, Rubina has chosen to raise them in her hometown, Shimla, away from Mumbai. “I want them to grow up breathing clean air and playing in the village mud,” she shared, though she returns to Mumbai during the rainy season.

Rubina’s candid admission has sparked support online, with many applauding her for taking a stand against colorism and beauty stereotypes. Her experience resonates with countless parents who struggle to protect their children from similar biases.
