Maithili Thakur Wins Alinagar Assembly Seat in Bihar Elections, Celebrates with Family and Supporters

In the recent Bihar Assembly elections, Maithili Thakur, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate, secured a victory from the Alinagar constituency in Darbhanga district. Supported by the NDA, Maithili Thakur defeated Manoj Mishra of the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) by more than 11,000 votes.

Speaking to the media after her win, Maithili Thakur expressed gratitude to her supporters, saying, “I haven’t won; everyone who believed in me has won. The people of Alinagar have won, and this is a moment of great happiness.” She also thanked the BJP for the love and support she received, adding that words cannot describe her feelings at the moment. During the celebration, Maithili even sang a song: “Hey Raja Ji Ek Kare Tarahal Ba Zarurat Muhurat Khubsurat Ho.”

Maithili Thakur later shared a video on Instagram featuring her mother, relatives, and supporters. In the emotional video, her mother can be seen shedding tears of joy, which Maithili gently wipes away. The video quickly went viral on social media, capturing the heartfelt celebrations among her close ones. One woman is seen holding Maithili’s hand and jumping with joy as the group celebrates her victory.

Maithili Thakur is a renowned folk singer known for performing in Maithili, Bhojpuri, Hindi, and Awadhi languages. She completed her education at Delhi University and has become an inspiration for youth following her election victory.

The Bihar Assembly elections were held in two phases on November 6 and 11, across 243 seats. The state recorded a historic voter turnout of 67.13%, the highest ever. The highest voting percentage was reported in Pranpur (Katihar Assembly) at 81.02%, while the lowest was in Kumhrar Assembly seat in Patna district.

Maithili Thakur thanked the people of Alinagar and the BJP for their support. In another Instagram post, she wrote, “Today, I stand before you not just as your representative but as your daughter, thanks to your immense love, trust, and blessings. This victory is not only mine; it belongs to every household in Alinagar and to every hand that blessed me.”
