Controversy Surrounds Spiritual Orator Over Derogatory Remarks on Live-in Relationships; Khushboo Patani Clarifies Her Stand

Prominent spiritual orator Aniruddhacharya recently sparked widespread outrage after making derogatory remarks about women in live-in relationships. His statements drew sharp criticism from across the country, particularly from women furious at the tone and content of his comments.

The controversy further escalated when Khushboo Patani, sister of Bollywood actress Disha Patani, publicly condemned the orator’s words, branding them as inappropriate and misogynistic. Following Khushboo’s comment, confusion spread online, with some linking her criticism mistakenly to another spiritual guru, Premanand Maharaj. This fueled heated debates on social media and led to wide speculation about her intent.

To address the misinterpretation, Khushboo Patani issued a clarification, categorically denying that her comments were ever directed at Premanand Maharaj. She explained that at the time Aniruddhacharya made his remarks, an unrelated video of Premanand Maharaj also went viral. This coincidence led people to incorrectly believe that her criticism targeted Premanand.

Khushboo provided further proof by sharing the original video on her Instagram account, making it clear that her anger was aimed only at Aniruddhacharya for his comments about live-in relationships and not at Premanand Maharaj, whose name was wrongly associated with the issue.

“I made my statement about this particular video, but the media twisted and misrepresented my words,” Khushboo wrote. “False news was spread deliberately and my statement was taken out of context to damage my image.” She further called out those who distorted the truth to mislead the public and harm her reputation, but expressed confidence that the truth would ultimately prevail.

Khushboo also addressed the flawed logic of reducing all relationships — friendships, live-in partnerships, or even marriage — solely to physical aspects. She questioned why people constantly associate emotional bonds and partnerships with only physical relationships, emphasizing the importance of emotional connection, companionship, and mutual understanding.

The controversy began when Aniruddhacharya, responding to an audience question about trusting women in live-in relationships, suggested that modern young men often bring home women who have been “with several men.” His crude language led to significant public backlash and calls for greater accountability from public figures.

In her conclusion, Khushboo Patani stated that attempts to malign her and connect her name with other spiritual leaders were deliberate efforts to mislead the public and suppress her voice. “But the truth can never be hidden for long. In the end, it always prevails,” she asserted, expressing her commitment to speaking out against injustice.
