Shocking Allegations: FIR Filed Against Singer Arijit Singh for Assault in West Bengal

In a surprising turn of events, renowned singer Arijit Singh—known for his humble and respectful demeanor—has found himself at the center of a serious controversy. For the first time, an FIR has been filed against the celebrated artist at the Shantiniketan Police Station in West Bengal, accusing him and his bodyguard of assault.

The complaint was lodged by Kamalkant Laha, who claims that on August 13, Arijit Singh’s bodyguard physically assaulted him during a video shoot in Shantiniketan. According to Laha, barricades were set up for the shoot, blocking the road. While on his way to the office, Laha was asked by the guard to wait for five minutes. However, as time passed and he became late, Laha requested to pass through. The guard reportedly told him to wait for another 30 minutes.

Frustrated by the delay, Laha tried to reason with the security team. He alleges that when he attempted to proceed, the guard forcefully grabbed him and put him into a police vehicle. During the altercation, Laha claims he was harassed and even lost his gold ring. “I am an artist myself. How can another artist treat me this way?” Laha questioned in his complaint.

The incident has raised eyebrows, especially given Arijit Singh’s reputation for simplicity and respectfulness. This is not the first time the singer has faced such accusations; in 2013, he was briefly arrested for allegedly hitting a cameraman with a helmet, though he was released on bail shortly after.

The police have begun investigating the matter, and the case has sparked widespread discussion in the entertainment industry and among fans. As the story develops, many are left wondering whether these allegations will tarnish the spotless image of one of India’s most beloved singers.
