Maharashtra: Headmaster Father Beats Daughter to Death Over Low NEET Scores

In a shocking incident from Maharashtra, a 17-year-old girl named Sadhana Bhosale lost her life after being brutally beaten by her own father, Dhondiram Bhosale, who is a school headmaster. The tragic event unfolded after Sadhana failed to score well in the NEET medical entrance exam, dashing her father’s hopes of her becoming a doctor.

According to sources, Sadhana was a Class 12 student. Her father, Dhondiram, had high aspirations for her and wanted her to pursue a career in medicine. However, when Sadhana’s NEET results were announced, her scores were lower than expected. This left her father feeling humiliated, especially given his position as a headmaster.

Fearing that his friends and colleagues would mock him over his daughter’s poor performance, Dhondiram began scolding Sadhana. In the heat of the argument, Sadhana reportedly retorted, “Papa, you didn’t become a collector either. You also scored low marks.” This response further infuriated Dhondiram, who then began beating his daughter.

The post-mortem report revealed serious injuries all over Sadhana’s body. Investigations found that Dhondiram had used the handle of a flour grinder to assault her. Despite her deteriorating condition after the beating, he did not take her to the hospital and instead left for school, leaving Sadhana at home. Tragically, she died soon after due to her injuries.

After discovering Sadhana’s death, her mother filed a complaint at the local police station. The police have since arrested Dhondiram Bhosale and initiated further investigation into the case.

This heartbreaking incident has sparked outrage and raised questions about parental pressure and violence against children in the pursuit of academic success.
