Rampur news: दिव्यांग लड़की को मिला इंसाफ तो उसके भाई ने पुलिस को क्या कह दिया?

Justice is often delayed in serious criminal cases in India, with victims and their families waiting years for closure. However, Rampur’s Fast Track Court has set a powerful example by delivering justice to a mute, intellectually disabled girl in just 78 days—granting her family hope and faith in the legal system.

A Heinous Crime, Swift Action

The ordeal began in the Saifni area of Rampur district, where a young girl, unable to speak and intellectually challenged, went missing one evening after heading to her family’s fields. Her family searched for her all night, before sadly discovering her in a traumatized condition in a neighbor’s field the next morning.

Her mother filed a police complaint the same day, prompting a swift police investigation. CCTV footage played a pivotal role, helping the police identify the accused, Daan Singh Yadav.

Arrest and Investigation

Police quickly tracked down the suspect using scientific methods and CCTV evidence. During Yadav’s arrest, there was even a brief police encounter. The accused was arrested, charged under the POCSO Act (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences) and SC/ST Act, and presented before the court.

Fast-Track Trial: Justice Delivered in 78 Days

Despite the trauma and challenges, the legal process moved with unprecedented speed. The Fast Track Court framed charges, completed the trial, and delivered a verdict—all within 78 days. The accused was found guilty of rape and sentenced to life imprisonment, along with a fine of Rs. 6 lakh. If unable to pay, he would serve an additional 2 years in prison.

Support for the Victim and Family

Throughout, police officers and two women constables supported the victim and her family, providing emotional comfort and standing by them through her long stint at Meerut Medical College for treatment.

The victim’s brother, Ankit Kumar, publicly thanked the police, doctors, magistrates, and the judiciary for their prompt support, saying, “I am grateful to all—because of your swift work, we got justice within just 38 days after the trial began. Our government really worked for us. Thank you, Yogi Adityanath Ji.”

A Model for Delivering Justice

Rampur’s Fast Track Court has set an inspiring benchmark—showing that with efficient investigation, scientific evidence, and sensitivity to victims, justice can be swift. The speedy resolution of such a sensitive case brings hope not only to the victim’s family but also to countless others waiting for justice.

Justice Delayed is Justice Denied—but in Rampur’s Fast Track Court, justice was not only delivered, it was delivered right on time.
