Krushna Abhishek Opens Up About ‘Accidental’ Marriage, Family Ties, and Govinda Rift on The Kapil Sharma Show

Renowned comedian and actor Krushna Abhishek recently made headlines with his candid revelations on The Kapil Sharma Show, where he humorously described his marriage as an “accident” and shed light on his personal life, secret wedding, and the much-discussed rift with his uncle, superstar Govinda.

The Secret Wedding: “We Ran Away and Got Married”

During the show, Krushna Abhishek, known for his comic timing and infectious energy, surprised both the audience and co-host Archana Puran Singh by sharing details of his secret wedding with Kashmera Shah. He admitted that neither the media nor their families were aware of their marriage at the time.

“We are such liars, Archana ji. We didn’t tell anyone about our marriage,” Krushna confessed, adding, “We actually ran away and got married. This is the first time I’m revealing this. Even the media didn’t know.” The couple tied the knot in 2012 in Las Vegas, USA, after participating in their first reality show together.

Krushna recalled, “Kashmera took me to America, to Las Vegas, saying there was a surprise for me. I had no idea it was going to be our wedding. I was just enjoying life as her boyfriend, with no plans of marriage.” He humorously recounted being dressed in a kurta-pajama, getting into a limousine with Kashmera’s foreign friends, and being surprised by the wedding arrangements in the Arizona mountains.

“I thought there would be some American ritual or prayer. Suddenly, the priest declared us married, and I was left wondering what had just happened,” he joked. Krushna admitted that the realization of being married dawned on him much later, and he had initially thought their relationship would last only a couple of months.

Krushna candidly revealed that neither he nor Kashmera were serious about the relationship in its early days. “Our plan was to break up after two months,” he laughed. “But then we kept getting work together, and I thought if we broke up, we’d lose out on big opportunities. So, we just kept going with the flow.”

Their journey from a casual relationship to marriage was filled with unexpected twists, but Krushna credits their shared professional journey and chemistry for keeping them together. “By God’s grace, we kept working and earning together, and that’s how our bond grew stronger.”

Meeting Salman Khan and the Govinda Connection

Kashmera shared an amusing anecdote about introducing Krushna to Bollywood superstar Salman Khan at his Panvel farmhouse. “I had worked with Salman in a few films, and he knew I was very strict and Americanized. When I brought Krushna to meet him, Salman kept watching him from a distance for three hours,” she recalled.

The real twist came when Govinda, Krushna’s maternal uncle and a legendary Bollywood actor, arrived at the party. “As soon as Chi Chi mama (Govinda) entered, I jumped on him and started dancing. Salman was shocked and asked, ‘Who is this guy jumping on Govinda?’ That’s when everyone realized Krushna was Govinda’s nephew.”

They showed Kashmera my worst photo, and she wondered if I was really the hero of the film!” Krushna laughed.

Kashmera, who was a popular item dancer before landing heroine roles, admitted she was more famous than Krushna at the time. “I was put up in a seven-star hotel, while Krushna was in a three-star. I was the bigger star back then!” she said, drawing laughter from the audience.
