The 78th Cannes Film Festival just got a whole lot brighter with Bollywood’s finest making a glamorous splash on the French Riviera. Janhvi Kapoor made her grand Cannes debut at the premiere of her new film Homebound. Styled by her cousin Rhea Kapoor, Janhvi stunned everyone in a pre-draped sari by designer Tarun Tahiliani, channeling her inner mermaid with a metallic pink ensemble. The sari was a perfect blend of elegance and glamour, with Janhvi’s dewy makeup highlighting her natural glow and her sleek bun adding a touch of magic to the look. She finished it off with layered pearl necklaces, adding a timeless charm to her appearance. Homebound tells the poignant story of two childhood friends from rural North India who aspire to join the police force, testing their bond and resilience. The film’s selection for Cannes’ prestigious ‘Un Certain Regard’ section is a testament to its universal appeal and the international recognition of Indian cinema. The film’s executive producer, the legendary Martin Scorsese, praised director Neeraj Ghaywan, calling it “a beautifully crafted film that’s a significant contribution to Indian cinema.”

With its nine-minute standing ovation at the premiere, Homebound marks a significant achievement in the global recognition of Indian filmmakers and actors.
