A Heartfelt Farewell to Satish Shah: “So Long, Dad”

Satish Shah, fondly known as “Satish Kaka,” has left us all. His passing marks the end of an era for the Sarabhai family, both onscreen and off. In a moving tribute, Rajesh Kumar, who played Sahil in the iconic series “Sarabhai vs Sarabhai,” shared his emotions and memories of the beloved actor.

Reflecting on the journey, Rajesh recalled, “We started the show in 2004, and after 70 episodes, we had to end it because it didn’t work at the time. But now, 21 years later, that very show has become a heartbeat for so many people. The characters have become household names; people identify with them. They come up to me and say, ‘I am the Sahil of my house,’ or ‘This is our Rosesh,’ and ‘My wife behaves just like Monisha.’ But no one ever says, ‘This is our Indravadan,’ because there can only be one Indravadan, and that is Satish Kaka.”

Rajesh reminisced about the strong bond the cast shares, “As the show grew, so did our bond. Whenever we meet, we’re not Sumit, Rupali, or Rajesh—we’re Sahil, Rosesh, Monisha, Dad, and Mom. That’s how we talk to each other.”

Today, the head of the Sarabhai family, the most senior member, has left us. Satish Shah had been battling illness for some time, and ultimately, life took its course.

Fans of “Sarabhai vs Sarabhai” from all over are sending their condolences. As the eldest son of the family, Rajesh accepted these condolences on behalf of everyone and offered his final words to Satish Shah: “So long, Dad. Safe travels. See you on the other side.”

With love and gratitude, the Sarabhai family and all its fans bid farewell to the legendary Satish Shah, whose legacy will live on in every laugh and every memory.
