Tragic M*rder of Pregnant Woman in Meerut: Husband Arrested After Gruesome Attack

The city of Meerut continues to be shaken by a series of violent crimes, with the latest incident sending shockwaves through the community. On Saturday, August 2nd, a horrific murder took place in the Ameera village under Gangnagar Police Station, where a husband brutally killed his seven-months-pregnant wife with a knife.

The accused, identified as Ravishankar, allegedly lured his 25-year-old wife Sapna into closing her eyes under the pretense of putting a locket around her neck. He then launched a frenzied knife attack, leaving multiple wounds on her face, head, and abdomen. The murder was so savage that police reports state Sapna was stabbed at least 20 times, killing not only her but also the unborn child she was carrying.

After committing the crime, Ravishankar reportedly called the police control room himself, stating bluntly that he had killed his wife and requesting officers to collect her body from the home.

Sapna’s brother-in-law revealed that she had been staying at her sister’s house for the past week due to ongoing disagreements with her husband. On the morning of August 2nd, while the sister was at work, Ravishankar arrived and carried out the lethal attack. The family has been left devastated and in deep mourning following the tragedy.

Police arrived at the scene and took the body for postmortem examination. Ravishankar was immediately arrested. Authorities have confirmed that marital discord was at the root of the tragedy and are currently conducting a thorough investigation into all aspects of the case.

This incident has further highlighted concerns regarding domestic violence and women’s safety in Meerut. The community and family are grieving for both Sapna and the innocent life lost before it had a chance to begin.
