As the annual Hajj pilgrimage approached on June 4, 2025, millions of Muslims prepared to travel to Mecca and Medina. Among them was Amer Al Mahdi Mansoor Al Gaddafi. However, when he arrived at the airport for his flight to Saudi Arabia, an unexpected problem arose during security checks: the surname “Gaddafi.”

The name immediately raised suspicion. As many know, Muammar Gaddafi was the former dictator of Libya, overthrown and killed by the Libyan people. Social media reports suggest an airport official even remarked, “Maybe Allah did not call you this year.” But Amer remained steadfast, replying, “My intention is for Hajj. Inshallah, I will go.”

Then, something extraordinary happened. Suddenly, an announcement was made: the very plane that had left for Hajj without Amer had developed a technical fault and was returning to the airport. Amer’s hope was rekindled. The plane landed, underwent repairs, but the pilot still refused to let anyone board. The issue was minor and fixed without deplaning passengers, so Amer was left behind once again.

Despite his disappointment, Amer continued to wait, convinced that he would make it to Hajj. Then, to everyone’s astonishment, the same flight returned a second time due to another technical issue. This time, the pilot insisted, “I will not fly unless Amer boards this plane.” It was as if some unseen force was determined to take Amer to Hajj.

Finally, Amer was allowed to board. The flight departed Libya and safely reached Saudi Arabia. Upon arrival, Amer recorded a video explaining his incredible experience, declaring, “This Hajj is not just mine; it is a story written by Allah Himself.”
