Viral Video Sparks Outrage: RPF Constable Accused of Assaulting Passenger on Train

A shocking video is circulating across social media, raising serious concerns about railway safety and the conduct of security personnel in India. In the footage, an RPF (Railway Protection Force) constable, whose responsibility is to ensure the safety of passengers, is seen trying to forcefully eject a passenger from a running train. The disturbing visuals have left viewers furious and questioning the boundaries of authority.

The Incident: What Really Happened?

The incident began with a viral video clip that clearly shows an altercation between the uniformed RPF constable and a young man. The argument escalates as the officer slaps the boy and then drags him towards the open door of the moving train. Other passengers inside the compartment are seen and heard trying to intervene and stop the officer, but he pays no heed to their pleas.

Social media exploded with accusations that the young man in question was a ticketless passenger. However, many questioned the officer’s actions, stressing that even if someone is traveling without a ticket, the law only permits imposing a fine or removing the person at the next station—not endangering their life by attempting to throw them off a moving train.

One user wrote, “If the boy is traveling without a ticket, then fine him or get him off at the next station. Why try to throw him off a moving train? Wearing a uniform doesn’t make you God.” This sentiment was echoed by thousands as anger mounted, with calls for strict action from the Railway Ministry and RPF leadership.

RPF’s Response and Investigation

As public outrage grew, the RPF in Delhi responded with an official statement, providing more context and a twist to the story. According to their statement, the incident took place on August 18, 2025, at Delhi’s Sarai Rohilla station. The accused constable was immediately reassigned to the Dayabasti RPF Reserve Line and a departmental inquiry was launched.

Importantly, the RPF claimed that the train was stationary at the time of the incident due to the emergency alarm chain being pulled, and not moving as depicted. The train involved was no. 22482. They stated that when the suspect was asked for identification, he was unable to provide it, and the constable was merely trying to remove him from the stationary train.

Key Questions Remain

However, the official RPF explanation has not satisfied the public, with many questioning whether such aggressive behavior—slapping, dragging, and pushing a passenger—can ever be justified, regardless of whether the train was stationary or moving. “Even if the boy pulled the chain or was traveling without a ticket, does that give any officer the right to assault someone?” asked many on social media.

The consensus online is that there is never an excuse for this kind of conduct by those in uniform. The incident has become a flashpoint on the issue of law enforcement accountability and passenger rights.

Ongoing Investigation

The RPF has assured that the investigation is ongoing and strict action will be taken against whoever is found guilty. As the public continues to demand answers, all eyes are now on the outcome of this probe.
