In a story that could make even the legendary lovers Laila and Majnu turn in their graves, a dramatic incident from Baghpat has become the talk of social media. The viral photo and video show a woman leaping from a 15-foot hotel wall in a desperate attempt to escape after being caught meeting her alleged boyfriend.
The main character in this unusual tale is Kapil Kumar, a man whose tragic marital saga is tinged with both sorrow and humor. Kapil has been married for six years and claims he has long suspected his wife of having multiple affairs. Despite his suspicions, he says he held onto hope that their relationship might improve.
According to Kapil, the couple had attended counseling sessions at the Baghpat police office to resolve their marital issues, accompanied by Kapil’s brother. After the session, Kapil left for Meerut in search of a job, while his brother headed back to their village. The story took a dramatic turn when Kapil’s brother spotted his sister-in-law on a bike with a stranger speeding down the Baraut highway.
Alarmed, the brother followed them to a hotel, where the woman and her alleged boyfriend checked in. Upon seeing her brother-in-law, chaos erupted. The boyfriend was caught, but the woman made a daring escape—climbing to the hotel roof and jumping over a 15-foot wall in true James Bond style. The entire episode was captured on a bystander’s phone and quickly went viral on social media.
When questioned, Kapil’s response was nothing short of a Bollywood thriller. He claimed, “My life is in danger from my wife. We went for counseling at the SP office, and after our third session, I left for Meerut to look for work. My wife had previously forced me to quit my job, insisting I stay in the village. But yesterday, as I was heading to Meerut, my brother called me back after spotting her with another man.”
Kapil’s brother tailed the pair to a hotel near Chaprauli Chungi. He immediately called the police emergency number (112), who arrived and found both the woman and her companion inside a hotel room. As the police intervened, the woman attempted to flee by jumping from the back of the hotel, while the boyfriend was apprehended by the crowd and handed over to the authorities.
Kapil later filed a complaint at the police station, expressing his fear for his life and alleging repeated threats from his wife and her associates. The woman’s mother was called to the scene and reportedly agreed that her daughter would not continue living with Kapil.
This bizarre episode, reported from Baghpat by Manudev Upadhyay for UP Tak, has left locals both shocked and amused, while the viral video continues to spark conversations about love, betrayal, and daring escapes.
