Voter Rights Yatra Kicks Off in Bihar: Lalu Prasad Yadav, Despite Poor Health, Steals the Show with Fiery Speech

The much-anticipated Voter Rights Yatra, led by Lok Sabha Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi and Bihar’s former Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav, was launched today from Sasaram. The event witnessed the presence of key leaders from the INDIA alliance, with representatives from the Congress, RJD, and Left parties all sharing the stage.

During the event, several speeches were made with Rahul Gandhi, visibly energetic, setting the tone for the campaign. However, the highlight of the Yatra was Lalu Prasad Yadav’s participation. Despite his ongoing health issues, the veteran leader made a significant appearance, sitting beside Rahul Gandhi on the dais and addressing the gathering with his trademark wit and candor.

As Lalu Prasad Yadav began his speech, Rahul Gandhi could not help but smile. Lalu both targeted the BJP and repeated his famous slogan, much to the delight of the crowd and fellow alliance leaders. Lalu urged the audience, “Remove the thieves, oust the BJP, and ensure victory for the unity party. Under no circumstances should we allow BJP, which only steals, to come to power. All must come together, unite behind Rahul Gandhi, Tejashwi Yadav, Kharge ji and throw out the ruling party. Strengthen democracy!”

Lalu concluded his speech with a quirky refrain, “Lal lal jhulaniya mein dhakka, ballamak chala!” which drew laughter from Rahul Gandhi and thunderous applause from the audience. He also enthusiastically chanted slogans in support of Rahul Gandhi, Mallikarjun Kharge, and Tejashwi Yadav, ending with “Zindabad!” (Long live!).

Although Lalu’s address was brief, his presence and his words became the highlight of the event, widely discussed in the political circles and on social media.

It is worth noting that Bihar will face important assembly elections later this year, and the political temperature is rising.
