Man Stabbed Multiple Times by Wife Claims Gender Bias in Legal System, Calls for Justice

A man identified as Asif, son of Zaheer and a resident of Sujadu, was brought in by police after being found injured on the roadside. According to medical staff, Asif sustained three stab wounds—one on his chest and two on his arms. Police confirmed that Asif was currently under examination and receiving treatment, and that an official case had been filed.

In a video statement from his hospital bed, Asif recounted the events leading up to the incident. He alleged that after returning home from Saudi Arabia, where he had spent more than two years working, he caught another man with his wife, Saira, in their house. Asif claimed that upon confronting them, the man fled, and his wife then attacked him with a knife, causing injuries to his chest, arms, and back.

Asif further stated that despite knowing about his wife’s past, he chose to marry her four years ago. He emphasized that he has documentation regarding her circumstances, all of which he is willing to present as evidence.

Expressing his frustration with the legal and law enforcement system, Asif alleged that laws designed to protect women are often misused and do not offer similar protection or justice to men. “If a lady attacks, nothing happens. But if a man retaliates, his whole family is sent to jail,” he said. Asif appealed to both national and state authorities, including the Modi and Yogi governments, to implement laws for the protection of men as well.

Asif concluded by requesting a fair investigation and justice in his case. He also mentioned that he and his wife had lost a child previously, alleging that his wife had taken medication to end the pregnancy. The police investigation is ongoing.
