Viral Video of Kinnar Community Protest Inside Lucknow Court Sparks Debate
Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh: Once again, a video related to the kinnar (transgender) community has become a topic of discussion in the capital city, Lucknow. However, this time the incident did not take place on the streets or in a guest house, but rather inside the court premises.
The viral video reportedly shows a member of the kinnar community creating a stir inside the ADJ Court at Wazirganj. In the video, the individual is seen arguing with police officers, clapping angrily, and even attempting to remove their clothes. Notably, during the commotion, the judge’s chair was empty, but many people were present in the courtroom. The disruption escalated to such a level that the kinnar eventually sat down on the floor.
According to social media reports, the video, which spread rapidly on Friday, is indeed from Wazirganj Court in Lucknow. Police officials from Wazirganj clarified that the incident is around two to two and a half months old. The kinnar had appeared in court in relation to a pending case date. After the uproar, the individual was served a notice and warned about their behavior. It has also been noted that the officer-in-charge at that time has since been transferred. Police further stated that, as of now, no new action is being taken regarding the video.
The viral footage has prompted strong responses from the public on social media. “I cannot confirm the authenticity of this video, but the images going viral have put the entire system in the dock. If even the kinnar community has to protest inside courtrooms for justice, it indicates how dire the situation has become,” one user commented. Another added, “Even the most powerful officials can do nothing in front of them; they would rather vacate their seats and run away.”
While it is confirmed that the commotion took place in the ADJ Court in Lucknow, the exact reason behind the protest remains unclear. Regardless of the cause, such behavior inside a place as dignified as a courtroom not only disrupts order but also hampers the process of justice.
