When Relationships Go Public: Apoorva Amid Backlash from Ex-Boyfriend, Friends, and the Internet
Introduction
In today’s digital age, private relationships are increasingly lived out in the unforgiving glare of social media. Breakups, disagreements, and even schoolyard pasts become public fodder. This week, social influencer Apoorva found herself at the center of a maelstrom online, with her ex-boyfriend, ex-best friend, and even an anonymous schoolmate voicing allegations and sharing personal stories—each adding fuel to a brewing fire over her authenticity, behavior, and past.
The Song That Started It All
It all began when Apoorva’s ex-boyfriend, Utsav, released a new song titled “Cute Little Red Flags.” But this was no ordinary track—it was a clear diss song targeting Apoorva, and parts of the lyrics pulled no punches. Utsav opened with, “Baby, here’s the thing. We dated 20 weeks, but you’ve been throwing shade on me for an eternity. Stop spreading lies about me, because I have told the truth about you.” He further challenged her honesty, sang about how he had been called “lowly” in public, and accused her of spreading “lies for content.”
What’s more, Utsav’s lyrics appeared to reference not just their breakup but also accusations of cheating, and the attempts at reconciliation that were, he suggests, more for Apoorva’s content than for mending their relationship. “You cheated, felt no shame, then spread false stories with your friends,” he rapped, alluding to Apoorva’s friend Rida allegedly badmouthing him as well.
Exposing and Defending
The feud didn’t end with the song. Utsav took to social media, writing in a lengthy caption: “If I hear any more nonsense, I’ll bring out receipts. Never try to gain sympathy by fabricating lies and pushing false narratives online just to make content or assassinate someone’s character. Having a big following doesn’t give you the right to bully others by unleashing your audience. When I was painted as a cheat and abuser just because of things you said, I reached out to you and your agency hoping to deal with the hate. Instead, I was told ‘You’re nobody, you should be happy you got to date her.’”
He ended by stating, “You gave it your best, and I won’t lie—it wasn’t easy, but I’m still here. Your big numbers only matter on an app. There’s a real, much bigger world outside beyond lies and cliques. The road doesn’t need follows. Grow up, kid.”
The bitterness in these words is palpable; Utsav insists he tried behind the scenes to resolve things and is now setting the record straight because, as he interprets it, Apoorva (aka ‘Rebel Kid’) has not taken accountability or apologized.
Accusations of Clout-Chasing and Public Sides
The online battlefield quickly spilled into the comment sections. Some users sympathized with Utsav, arguing that after their Thailand trip—a time when, according to some insiders, Apoorva allegedly cheated—he was inevitably going to be painted as the villain. “Everyone goes through breakups, but avenging someone after a breakup isn’t right,” wrote one commenter. “To be honest, I’m on this guy’s side. I’m sure Rebel would have cheated.”
Others questioned Utsav’s timing, suggesting he was trying to revive his own fame one year after the breakup by bringing the drama public.
Sufi’s Fallout with Apoorva
Matters escalated further when Sufi, Apoorva’s former close friend, also posted stories denouncing her—for “lying” and “not caring” about the repercussions of her actions on friends. The background: The two, along with another friend Rida, were recently invited to a Netflix event in Australia. While Sufi and Rida shared plenty of content together, there was little to no interaction with Apoorva, and fans began asking what happened between them.
Sufi responded, “No more lies.” He addressed rumors of clout-chasing off Apoorva, stating he never collaborated on content for his own gain—instead, the two videos he shot were posted on her page. “I wanted to be friends with Apoorva. Not the ‘Rebel Kid.’ When there was no accountability for how I was being treated, I distanced myself. I even requested her to ask her audience to calm down, because they’ve been abusing me for no reason. Sadly, this person who called me her ‘best friend’ has no concern for me and no recognition of the fact that maybe I’m hurt.”
He concluded, “You think I’m a horrible person, okay. But I’ve worked hard to build myself. I won’t let a bunch of children discredit that by spreading misinformation.”
Schoolmate’s Story and the Question of Truth
Amid all this, a person from Apoorva’s school days came forward (anonymously) to the reporting channel, challenging a story Apoorva has shared publicly in interviews—a car accident when she was in the 10th grade. According to Apoorva’s on-record version, she was driving at a low speed, listening to Honey Singh, and was hit by a girl running onto the road—she panicked, scraped another car while trying to stop, and later found out the girl wasn’t seriously hurt.
The ex-classmate alleges this is misleading. According to her, Apoorva was speeding and hit the girl, who actually ended up hospitalized. She accuses Apoorva of downplaying her own fault and not acknowledging the gravity of taking out a car at age 16. “Even now, Apoorva seems to downplay her mistakes. When she talks about this, she shows immaturity and a lack of empathy for the real victim, who was badly shaken by the accident—much more than Apoorva seems willing to admit.”
The Downfall of Idolization
What makes this drama so potent—beyond the public heartbreak or the spat among young influencers—is the observation that large, loyal online followings can sometimes amplify, weaponize, or distort real-life issues. As both Utsav and Sufi claim, abuse and hate spread rapidly in their direction when Apoorva and her friends made one-sided comments, venting online rather than confronting or resolving things privately.
The dynamic is not new, but it brings sobering questions about accountability: Does social media fame give license to blur truth, exaggerate, or direct followers at will? Are influencers responsible for calming their followers when things get out of hand? And what happens when friends and exes become enemies in front of millions?
The Other Side: Apoorva Remains Silent
At the time of publishing, Apoorva (Rebel Kid) has not responded directly to Utsav or Sufi’s accusations, though she did share a story on Instagram around the time Utsav’s song released—her and a friend flipping the middle finger. The message seemed pointed, if indirect.
But reasonably, every story has more than one perspective. Utsav’s is detailed and deeply emotional, but as yet, only one side.
Conclusion: When All Is Content
What is most striking about this story is how modern relationships, especially in the influencer world, unfold and unravel with every message, story, and song analyzed by thousands—even millions—of strangers. As the script of our private lives becomes content, truth, empathy, and responsibility can become casualties.
Apoorva’s social circle may have fractured irreparably, but this episode is also a mirror for the audience: Are we consumers or participants in the spectacle of someone’s heartbreak? And how can any of us ever know the full truth—offline, off camera, in the quiet beyond the likes and follows?
For now, Apoorva’s silence is as loud as Utsav’s song. The feeds refresh, the comments multiply, and both sides hope, in their own way, to be heard.
