Bitter Family Dispute Erupts Over Sanjay Kapur’s ₹40 Crore Inheritance

A fierce battle over the inheritance of Sanjay Kapur’s estimated ₹40 crore fortune has shaken both his family and the public. Following the businessman’s sudden death, allegations and suspicions have escalated within his blended family.

Karishma Kapoor, Sanjay’s ex-wife, has reportedly moved to Delhi with her two children, while Sanjay’s third wife, Priya Sachdev, is allegedly making efforts to claim the entire estate. Priya, who married Sanjay in 2017, brought her 8-year-old daughter, Safira, from her previous marriage to businessman Vikram Chatwal, which ended in 2016. Priya and Sanjay also have a son together, Azarius.

Legal experts suggest that Safira, being Priya’s daughter from a previous marriage, technically does not have a direct claim on Sanjay’s property. However, efforts are reportedly being made to establish that Safira was treated as Sanjay’s own child, potentially giving her equal inheritance rights. In a move fueling speculation, Safira recently removed “Chatwal” from her name on Instagram. Around the same time, Priya Sachdev added “Kapur” to her own Instagram name.

Meanwhile, Sanjay Kapur’s mother, Rani Kapur, has also staked a claim to the inheritance, raising suspicions about her son’s death and demanding an investigation. She believes the property dispute may have played a role in Sanjay’s demise.

The inheritance battle has pitted Karishma Kapoor and Priya Sachdev against each other, with both women reportedly using their children to strengthen their respective claims. Few expected Priya’s daughter, who is not biologically related to Sanjay, to assert any rights over the estate.

Notably, during Sanjay Kapur’s last rites, the family had presented a united front. But as soon as the question of inheritance arose, relationships appear to have soured, turning loved ones into adversaries.
