Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Flags Off Ujjain-Ayodhya Pilgrimage Train Under ‘Tirth Darshan Yojana’
Ujjain/Ayodhya: In a significant religious and social initiative, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav flagged off the first train from Ujjain to Ayodhya under the ‘Mukhyamantri Tirth Darshan Yojana’ via video conferencing. The launch marks another milestone in the state government’s efforts to make religious pilgrimages accessible and convenient for its senior citizens.
During the virtual inauguration, Dr. Yadav interacted with numerous pilgrims, extended his heartfelt greetings, and expressed gratitude toward the Indian Railways for its seamless arrangements for the journey. “I congratulate all participants, the government staff, and Indian Railways for organizing such a beautiful event. May the Almighty grant happiness and prosperity to all travelers and their families,” the Chief Minister stated.
Kalpana Sharma, one of the traveling devotees, thanked the Chief Minister and the government for launching the scheme, highlighting how it provides an opportunity for elders and devotees to fulfill their spiritual wishes.
As Dr. Yadav engaged with the pilgrims, he inquired about their villages, families, and their preparations for the trip. The atmosphere was filled with excitement and religious fervor, punctuated by devotees chanting praises like “Jai Shri Mahakal” and “Har Har Mahadev.” He playfully asked whether they were carrying special sweets like ‘bhutta ke laddoo’ and encouraged them to bring back holy water from the Ganges and offer prayers for the well-being of all.
Senior citizens from various towns such as Ujjain, Agar, Sehore, and Vidisha participated in the journey, with local officials ensuring smooth logistics and safety. The Chief Minister also commended district collectors and law enforcement officers for their efforts in managing the event, promising more amenities such as improved railway and road connectivity in the future with the support of the central government and Prime Minister Modi.
“This Yatra (pilgrimage) is unique and special for our state. I send my blessings and best wishes to all travelers, and I hope your journey is auspicious and fulfilling,” Dr. Yadav added.
The ‘Mukhyamantri Tirth Darshan Yojana’ has been lauded as a pioneering program by the Madhya Pradesh government, aimed specifically at enabling senior citizens and devotees to undertake spiritual journeys to prominent religious sites across India.
As the train departed with enthusiastic chants and blessings, the launch was seen as a festive and emotional moment for all participants—a testament to the cultural and spiritual fabric of the state.
