In a shocking case that has gripped the entire state, the murder of a young man has exposed a dark web of illicit relationships, betrayal, and a meticulously planned crime.

A Shocking Discovery

The story began in April 2025 when an elderly woman returned home early from the market. She noticed most doors in her house were open, except for one, behind which strange noises could be heard. Curious and concerned, she peeked through the window and was stunned to see her husband, around 60 years old, naked with her own niece. The sight left her devastated. Quietly, she waited for the two to come out and then confronted them before rushing to her brother to insist that his daughter must be married off immediately, as she was already 27.

A Sudden Marriage and a Sinister Plan

Within a month, a suitable groom was found and the niece, Gujja Singh, was married to Priyanshu Kumar alias Chhotu. The marriage took place on May 11, 2025, and Gujja left her uncle’s home for her new life. However, this was just the beginning of a far more sinister sequence of events.

The M*rder

On June 24, 2025, Priyanshu was returning home from Varanasi by train. As he neared his village, he called his mother to arrange for someone to pick him up from the station. Two local youths, Sonu and Anup, went to receive him. As they left the station on a bike, another bike approached them. The riders, pretending to ask for directions, suddenly opened fire. Priyanshu was shot multiple times and died on the spot. The assailants fled, leaving Sonu and Anup unharmed.

**Police Investigation Uncovers the Truth**

Initial police investigations led nowhere as Sonu and Anup insisted they had no involvement. However, Priyanshu’s call records revealed he had spoken with his wife over 50 times on the day of his murder. When questioned, Gujja Singh was evasive and refused to hand over her phone, raising further suspicion. She was eventually taken into custody.

During interrogation, the shocking truth emerged. Gujja had been living with her uncle and aunt since childhood. At the age of 12, she developed an illicit relationship with her uncle, which continued secretly for 15 years. Her uncle, a wealthy businessman, manipulated marriage proposals to ensure she remained with him. When the affair was finally discovered by her aunt, Gujja was forced into marriage.

However, Gujja and her uncle were determined to be together. They hatched a plan to eliminate Priyanshu. The uncle hired two contract killers from Garhwa, Jharkhand—Jaishankar Chaubey and Mukesh Sharma. Gujja provided her husband’s photo and helped coordinate the murder, even luring Priyanshu out of the house under various pretexts.

The Aftermath

After the murder, police arrested Gujja Singh and both shooters. The uncle, however, remains at large as of the time of reporting. The case has shocked the state, with police praised for their thorough investigation and the swift formation of a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to crack the case.
