Princy Prajapati Thanks Akhilesh Yadav for Support, Completes Master’s at UC Berkeley

Princy Prajapati, a student from Lucknow, has publicly expressed her gratitude to Akhilesh Yadav, former Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, for his crucial support that enabled her to pursue and complete her master’s degree at the prestigious University of California, Berkeley.

A few days ago, the case of another girl, Pankhuri Tripathi, made headlines when her school admission was initially denied even after she appealed to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s public grievance forum. Akhilesh Yadav had offered to cover her education expenses and help with her admission. However, Pankhuri declined his help, reportedly calling him “bad” and refusing any assistance. During a press conference, Akhilesh Yadav became emotional, alleging that the child had been dragged into politics and that officials had coached her to say those words.

He remarked, “We should not involve children in politics. It’s an ugly game, and circumstances and interests can change quickly. I urge government officials not to involve children in political matters.”

Meanwhile, Pankhuri did eventually get admitted to school thanks to CM Yogi’s intervention, but now it is Princy Prajapati who is in the spotlight. Princy has sent a heartfelt thank you message to Akhilesh Yadav from the United States, acknowledging his financial support when all other avenues were closed.

Princy shared, “Honorable Mr. Akhilesh Yadav, I, Princy Prajapati, am delighted and grateful to inform you that I have completed my master’s program at the University of California, Berkeley. Two years ago, when I got admission, my family’s financial condition was such that studying here seemed impossible. I knocked on every door, including the public grievance forums in Lucknow and Gorakhpur, and reached out to many institutions and industry leaders, but received no help. It was you who arranged for my fees and expenses, making my education possible.”

She revealed that the total cost, including tuition and living expenses, was ₹1 crore (about $120,000), all of which was covered by Akhilesh Yadav. She added, “I know many people who have been helped by your office. Studying at Berkeley, I excelled in my program and represented my class at convocation. As an Indian, it is a matter of pride for me. None of this would have been possible without your support. I promise to remain dedicated to the progress of my country and state.”

Two years ago, Princy was admitted to one of the world’s top universities, but it was only with Akhilesh Yadav’s help that she could fulfill her dream. Now, having completed her degree, she has not only thanked her benefactor but also pledged to bring honor to her country and state through her achievements.

On social media, Princy’s video message has been widely shared, with users praising Akhilesh Yadav for his generosity. One user wrote, “This is Princy Prajapati. She needed ₹1 crore for her master’s at the University of California. She sought help from CM Yogi but didn’t receive any. Akhilesh Yadav stepped in and provided more than ₹1 crore. There is no one like Akhilesh ji.”

Another user commented, “Princy wanted to study abroad, but her family couldn’t afford it. She asked many people for help, but only Akhilesh Yadav responded, arranging both her fees and living expenses. Now, after two years, she has completed her studies in America and thanked Akhilesh ji through social media.”
