Rahul Gandhi Launches Voter Rights Yatra from Sasaram, Sparks Chants Against “Vote Thieves”
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has kicked off his highly anticipated “Voter Rights Yatra,” a 16-day journey that will traverse over 20 districts and cover nearly 1300 kilometers across Bihar. The inaugural rally took place in Sasaram and saw the presence of numerous political heavyweights, including Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav, Tejashwi Yadav, and other key leaders from the INDIA alliance.
A notable moment from the event was the appearance of Pappu Yadav, who previously made headlines for being denied a seat on stage during Rahul Gandhi’s Patna rally. This time, however, not only was Pappu Yadav seen in the front row, but he later joined the leaders on stage as well. Another viral highlight was Congress leader Kanhaiya Kumar, seen in a lengthy and animated discussion with Rahul Gandhi.
Kanhaiya Kumar delivered a powerful speech, rallying the crowd against electoral malpractice. He declared, “We must stop vote theft! Tell me, will you fight against vote thieves? If someone steals votes, shouldn’t we call them thieves?” He went on to lead the crowd in energetic chants, “Vote thief, leave the chair! There is an uproar in every street—Narendra Modi is a vote thief, NDA is a vote thief!”
Kanhaiya also invoked Bihar’s rich legacy of freedom and knowledge, urging people to raise their voices against what he termed the “slavery of vote theft.” He called on the citizens of Bihar, the land of Buddha and Gandhi, to unite and defend democracy.
Social media buzzed with the chemistry between Rahul and Kanhaiya, adding a new layer to local political speculations. The speech and the strong unity displayed by the INDIA alliance sent a clear message in the ongoing political battle.
The Voter Rights Yatra will pass through districts including Aurangabad, Gaya, Nawada, Nalanda, Munger, Bhagalpur, and Purnia, culminating in a massive rally at Patna’s Gandhi Maidan on September 1st.
Stay tuned for more updates on the Voter Rights Yatra and its impact on Bihar’s political landscape.
