America’s Most Haunted Doll Has a New Owner—and It’s a Name You Know!

Matt Rife Buys Ed & Lorraine Home With 'Annabelle' Doll

The infamous Raggedy Ann doll—known to horror fans worldwide as the inspiration for Annabelle in The Conjuring movie franchise—has just found a new home, and its new caretaker is someone who’s no stranger to the spotlight.

This notoriously “possessed” doll, rumored to be the creepiest in America, has fascinated and terrified paranormal believers for decades. Unlike her Hollywood version, the real Annabelle is a simple rag doll, but many claim she harbors dark, supernatural powers.

Now, comedian Matt Rife, who boasts over 41 million followers on social media, has revealed that he and a friend have purchased the Monroe, Connecticut home and museum where Annabelle is kept—sealed securely in a glass case. With the sale, Rife and his friend have become the legal guardians and caretakers of all 750 haunted artifacts and items in the famed Warren Museum, including Annabelle herself.

Earlier this summer, Annabelle was taken on a paranormal tour by an investigator. Tragically, in the midst of the national tour, the investigator was found dead in his hotel room in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania at age 54—a passing that only deepened the chilling aura surrounding the doll.

With Matt Rife now responsible for one of America’s most terrifying paranormal collections, fans are divided: Is he tempting fate and risking his safety for the sake of thrill—or is it all just smoke and mirrors? Even Rife jokes, “I should probably collect stamps or something—might be a little safer.”

Whether a believer or a skeptic, one thing’s clear: Annabelle’s latest chapter is bound to keep believers and thrill seekers intrigued.
