Patna Businessman’s Murder: Wife Plotted Husband’s Death with Her Lover for 10 Lakh and Property, Police Say

Patna was left stunned as police revealed the explosive truth behind the cold-blooded murder of local businessman Ajit Kumar on July 6, 2025. What initially seemed like a random shooting has turned into one of the most sensational crime stories of the year, with the victim’s own wife emerging as the main conspirator.

Wife, School Principal, Plots Husband’s Death

According to City SP Bhanu Pratap, Ajit Kumar was shot dead by unknown assailants at around 10 pm. As the Special Investigation Team (SIT) dug deeper, they uncovered a web of deceit and betrayal. The mastermind, police say, was none other than Ajit’s wife, Rita Sinha—a respected principal of RN Sinha BD Public School.

A Deadly Love Affair and a Greedy Motive

Police allege Rita Sinha teamed up with her lover, Mansu Kumar (her driver), to orchestrate her husband’s murder. The motive? Ajit owned the land on which Rita’s school operated, and she wanted it transferred to her name. With property and wealth on the line, Rita and Mansu hired contract killers for ₹10 lakh, paying part of the sum in cash.

Murder for Money: The Shocking Plot

Investigators say Rita’s plan was cold and calculated. She and Mansu allegedly coordinated with shooters, tracked Ajit’s movements, and executed the murder on Khagol Road. The SIT worked relentlessly, tracing the money trail and arresting Rita and Mansu outside the state. The murder weapon and getaway bike have also been seized.

Family Dispute Turns Deadly

Further questioning revealed that Ajit wanted to sell the school land, a move Rita fiercely opposed. The dispute escalated, leading to the chilling murder plot. “Rita wanted all of Ajit’s properties in her name,” police said, “and was willing to go to any length to get it.”

Case Solved, But Questions Remain

With the main accused in custody, Patna police have cracked the case wide open. But the city is still reeling from the revelation that a trusted wife and school leader could mastermind such a heinous crime.
