Hopes for Life Under the Debris: Army Deploys Advanced Technology in Dharali Rescue Mission

Amid the ruins and haunting silence of Dharali, hope for life still lingers beneath the vast stretches of debris. Over a hundred are feared trapped after a devastating disaster struck this remote area, but teams from the Indian Army have joined the ongoing rescue efforts, equipped with state-of-the-art search and detection tools.

One of the most vital pieces of technology brought into play is the Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) system, known as the “Zever 400.” This advanced radar is capable of detecting living beings up to 20 meters beneath the surface – whether humans or animals. The Army has divided the affected area into sectors, meticulously scanning each one with the hope of finding survivors.

“With focused effort, the GPR can scan a 2-meter radius up to 20 meters deep in about five minutes,” explained a member of the rescue team. “We are working round the clock, hoping to find a sign of life, as there could still be 40 to 50 people trapped inside.”

Despite these technological advances, the sheer scale and rugged nature of the site – filled with mud, rocks, and rubble – make the task extremely challenging. Multiple teams, including those using search dogs and bulldozers, are on the ground, but so far, no human survivors have been detected. The sensors have, however, picked up traces of animals trapped under the debris.

The rescue mission, though running against time, carries on with unwavering determination. Every square meter is being checked, every sound is being analyzed. The rescue teams still believe that, despite the odds, survivors might be found.
