Clashes in Unnao, Uttar Pradesh Over Religious Procession

Recently, unrest broke out in the Gangaghat area of Unnao district, Uttar Pradesh, as members of the Muslim community took to the streets in large numbers, including many women. The incident occurred when police tried to stop a procession supporting “I Love Mohammad” in Manohar Nagar on Sunday night. The procession did not have official permission, and Section 144, which prohibits large gatherings, was in effect in the city.
