Delhi Police SI Neetu Bisht Arrested: Bribery Scandal Exposes ₹12.5 Lakh Extortion from Doctor

Delhi is once again in the spotlight, but this time not for a heroic act—rather, for a shocking corruption scandal that has rocked the police force. A female sub-inspector, Neetu Bisht, posted at West Delhi’s Paschim Vihar East police station, and three other police personnel have been arrested for allegedly extorting lakhs of rupees from a local doctor.

The Accusation According to the investigation, SI Neetu Bisht and her team are accused of intimidating and extorting ₹12.5 lakh from Dr. Neeraj Kumar Singh, who runs an educational consultancy in Delhi. The operation began on 25th July, when three men—one in police uniform (identified as Head Constable Vishal Chillar) and two in civilian clothes (including Ajay Kashyap)—entered Dr. Singh’s office. They forcibly disabled the CCTV, confiscated the DVR wires, and abducted Dr. Singh and his two employees, taking them first to a private residence and then to a police booth.

Abuse and Extortion Dr. Singh alleges that they were mentally and physically harassed and threatened with being “framed” in a serious case unless ₹20 lakh was paid. Under pressure, Dr. Singh was forced to transfer ₹1 lakh, withdraw ₹6.5 lakh in cash via cheque, and his acquaintance Riyaz gave ₹4 lakh to Ajay Kashyap. In total, ₹12.5 lakh exchanged hands before Dr. Singh was finally released.

The Investigation Afterwards, Dr. Singh filed a complaint with the Vigilance Department, leading to a probe. Ajay Kashyap, when questioned, admitted to handing over ₹1,500 of the amount to SI Neetu Bisht. Following this, cases were registered against all accused: middleman Ajay Kashyap, SI Neetu Bisht, Head Constables Vishal Chillar and Ajit Singh, and Constable Pramod.

A Department in Crisis This high-profile extortion case has left the entire Delhi Police department in turmoil, raising serious questions about police integrity and abuse of power.
