That very night, police confronted the suspect—identified as Adil, a resident of Umri Kala village and a nursing staff member at a private hospital—on the outskirts of Moradabad.

During the encounter, Adil tried to escape on his motorcycle but fell off and then attacked the officers. Police fired back, injuring him in the leg before successfully arresting him. A .315-bore pistol and the motorcycle used to flee were also recovered. Adil was subsequently admitted to the district hospital for treatment.

Police officials revealed that Adil confessed to fleeing after seeing police, knowing he was wanted for the molestation that had just gone viral. He also admitted his involvement in the incident, stating that he ran away because he feared imminent arrest.
