Tanushree Dutta Sparks Outrage After Breaking Sawan Fast With Mutton—Fans Ask, “Does She Need Help?”

Tanushree Dutta Eats Mutton During Sawan Fast For Lord Shiva

It seems Bollywood actress Tanushree Dutta has once again landed herself in the middle of controversy, leaving fans and followers shocked—and angry. Recently, Tanushree, who made headlines for appealing for help in an emotional video and leveling serious allegations against superstar Salman Khan, is now going viral for a very different reason: breaking her Sawan fast with a mutton meal.

Traditionally, the Sawan fast is a sacred Hindu practice, often associated with strict vegetarian discipline. So, when images and statements emerged of Tanushree eating mutton to break her vow, social media erupted. Critics bombarded her with comments, with many suggesting she needs medical or psychological help.

Tanushree, however, was quick to defend her choice, posting, “I don’t believe festivals or religious fasts need to be rigid and rule-based. Every person has their own bodily needs. For me, this is what works best—a fast that strengthens my mental health and is broken with a nutritious, high-protein meal keeps my body in top form.” She even claimed her approach had benefits and connected it to Ayurveda.

Her explanation only fueled the backlash. One user declared, “Unfollowing you—honestly, your posts are hurting my mental health! You need a doctor.” Another commented sarcastically, “No shame, dear. Karma will come for you.” Others were more blunt: “Chanting God’s name and eating goat in Sawan? This is too much!” Some even urged her to seek professional mental health support, citing her recent public appeals and social media posts.

Many are now also questioning her earlier emotional video, dubbing it as potential “drama.” The growing criticism illustrates how quickly public opinion can shift, especially when religious sensitivities are involved.

As Tanushree continues to stand by her lifestyle choices, the debate rages on: Is she boldly living life on her own terms, or is the actress in need of help, as some followers claim?

What do you think about Tanushree Dutta’s latest controversy? Is it freedom of choice or a cry for help?
